Archaic sealed heat japanese tv spot

By Nintendude under Archaic sealed heat, Nintendo, Nintendo DS

Here´s a japanese tv spot of Archaic sealed heat. Ths SRPG has the most amazing graphics we´ve seen on the DS and it looks like the. gameplay will not be left behind using the touchscreen to actually hit the enemies instead of just watching the fireworks like in any other regular RPG.

I want this game so badly it hurts. It just hurts.

Oboro Murasama trailer

Marvelous entertainment, the same people behind Odin sphere (one of the collest looking PS2 games of all time) showed this trailer during the TGS. The working title is Oboro Murasama and despite being a hack n`slash simple game, it looks really good.

Unfortunatly, this looks like one of those will-never-make-it-to-america type of game so enjoy the trailer.

Lessons learned from the Nintendo comeback

By Nintendude under Random toughts

Last night i was reading about how The Big N is now the second most valuable company in Japan only behind Toyota and that got me thinking. Remember a couple years ago when everyone kept saying Nintendo was dead, living from their old days of glory and that only a miracle could bring them back? well, guess what, it happened and since i don´t really believe that much in miracles here are the reasons why i think Ninty was able to gain some momentum

* **They sticked with their company culture -** They didn´t let all the criticism to affect them and change the way they do games. They didn´t get carried away in the whole “more polygons and textures make better games” hype and that´s how they were able to think outside the box and bring new experiences to the gaming world.

* **Innovation trumps graphics -** While Microsoft and Sony were worried about how fast the CPU was and how much horsepower they could put on their giant monstrous boxes, Nintendo was thinking about how they would bring new experiences to the gamers so we would not get bored playing the same freaking games with more eyecandy.

* **Less is more -** I think all the comparisons with Apple are justified. Nintendo´s approach to the gaming world is very similar to the way Apple does software. It´s always harder to cut features than it is to add them, specially when all your competitors are doing it. By doing this Nintendo was able to offer great prices packed with a brand new experience in both the Wii and the DS without sacrificing the overall quality of the products.

* **Never rush to launch a product -** One of the main reasons why the Wii is doing so great is because the other options are flawed. I´d love to get a 360 to play some games like Halo but the only thought of the red rings of death keep me away from it. Microsoft didn´t care enough to test their product and is failing because of that huge mistake.

* **Worldwide plan -** It´s 2007, there is no reason to focus only on the Japanese market or to do separate launches for each region specially if you are a big company and have the resources to go worldwide, The world is so connected these days that having a local approach could kill your future opportunities.

What do you think? Are there any more reasons i might have missed? Don´t be shy and drop some comments.

Sierra uses LOLcats as ads

By Nintendude under LOLcats, Geometry Wars Galaxies, Wii

You know LOLcats right? those little funny captioned cat pictures that has us wondering how do these kind things are so funny for the internet people. Well, Sierra apparently wants all those people to buy their new Wii game called Geaometry Wars Galaxies which by the way looks like an advance version of space invaders.

The company launched an online ad campaign with pictures like the one featured above with lolcats as the stars.

This is by far the best online campaign ever. Yes, i love lolcats!.

Wii gate lets you change your Wii light

By Nintendude under Wii, Mods

wii_gate.jpg

There are lots of mods out there that let you change the light on your Wii DVD slot but most of them require you to either be a hardcore modder or to break your warranty. Talismoon´s solution is called Wii Gate and for only $7.95 promises a kit that will enable anyone to change the light color without any of those issues. It comes in green and red and if it works i´m sure they will launch more colors soon.

New Final Fantasy IV info revealed

ffiv_jump.jpg

The latest issue of Jump magazine featured some new Final Fantasy IV news, you can see the scan above. If you don´t know japanese (neither do i, so don´t worry) our riend over at siliconera traslated it.

Apparently one of the new features of the game is that you will be able to inherit the special abilities of former party members. if you remember the original version, every character was able to make some special move, for example, Palom & Porom were able to use Twin Magic but once they left your party their abilities went with them. In this new version you will be able to teach those abilities to another character so you can continue using them

Robot chicken does Zelda

I love robot chicken, specially when they do some awesome gaming parodies like this one where we get to see their vision of what would really happen if Link went to rescue Zelda.

Archaic Sealed Heat japanese boxart

By Nintendude under RPG, Nintendo DS

ash-boxartf.jpg

This is without any doubt the most beautiful game the DS has ever seen and if you haven´t heard about it you should start counting the days to it´s release.

Archaic Sealed Heat (ASH for short) will pack some really cool graphics, so much that it will have to be released on a card with more capacity than the ones used in every other DS game.

This strategic RPG will hit Japan this October and hopefully the US really soon, here´s the official boxart wich looks really good.
