Megaman might join Smash Bros Brawl
I really hope this turns out to be true and confirms SSBB as the best game ever. I was talking via IM with a source very close to a Capcom developer and got som interesting news, here´s the excerpt. (N is Me)
N: so…any news on the capcom front?
Y: i did hear something interesting last week

Ok, before you start the flaming in the comments, you should know by now i don´t like to publish rumors and that this is the same source that gave me the RE5 details i published on my other blog before the first trailer was shown and who also told me about umbrella chronicles a few days before the game was officially announced, so i have no reason not to trust him.
According to the good old wikipedia, this is not the first time Capcom licenses the megaman character rights to other companies wich apparently is what they will be doing this time.

The release date has been pushed back to 2008, so maybe that helps add validity to this claim. If Megeman is in this I will lose my mind in anticipation. I only hope that it is the original Megaman style. Has a fighting game ever won a “Game of the Year” award? If not, this could be the first.

Sorry. But I’m calling Shinanigins on this.
First off, the reason for the delay was NOT to put Mega Man in. It was to touch up on the game more and fix any remaining bugs and glitches as well as to fix Wifi. It is Nintendo’s “Perfection Program”.
Second, Negotiations with Megaman and any other 3rd party characters ended back in June 2006. So either Megaman IS in or he isn’t.
Now perhaps your friend misunderstood some information but the dealy is NOT to include Megaman.

Well think of it this way.
Do you have any idea how long it takes to create a character model, program moves, and make that character balanced? 2 months is way too little time.
On top of that it was stated in an Nintendo press release that they plan to perfect the game.
I don’t mean to be negitive but I just can’t trust a source unless it comes from the Dojo or a credible site with proof.

Hm…. I’m sure what to make of this. However, Megaman in Brawl would be so damn awesome and would probably push fans into a suicidal state of anticipation. Although Sonic has been confirmed, Megaman’s inclusion would make Brawl a source of all things wonderful.

First of all dont believe Nintendo’s press release. Thats just a generic BS excuse because they dont really want to tell you why they are delaying the game. Hell, the SSB Perfection program can mean adding more characters to make a complete roster.
And they would have about 4 months to add him. Im positive this is possible with amount of programmers and modelers Sora has available making this game. Plus, Im pretty sure Capcom’s design team would lend a hand if need be, just like the LoZ team did with Link and such.

I hope your right. I mean seriously. Wouldn’t this make gaming history? Mario, Sonic, and Megaman, three of the biggest gaming icons in history, duking it out indefinitely. That would be so sweet. Not to mention the inclusion of the other awesome charcters they have already revealed. Who wouldn’t own the game at that point, I wonder?

I would probably agree that it would take more than two months to create all of the details on a specific model, and everything that goes with it. But it’s also plausible to think that they’d been working on Mega Man’s model extensively with the prediction that they would get the rights to add him. Its not unknown for companies to work on details for a game not knowing for sure if it will be added in or not. Each and every game made always has left overs thrown in the trash when its all said and done. In my opinion, if it was their intention to put Mega in, they would have been working on him already, having his character pretty much completely assembled, just waiting for capcom to give the thumbs up, and metaphorically Copy/Paste him in. And if Capcom said no, then oh well, he’s trashed. It’s better to have the work done and not need it, than to need it and not have it done.

Good point MegaPwnz, I actually heard that was the process with Sonic. They made his model first then got approval.

Megaman and Sonic….. Seems almost too good to be true. But the fact that Megaman has a very legitimate shot at making it puts my doubts at ease. And if all they needed was Capcom’s approval and had already developed Megaman,then I’m pretty sure Megaman is in (assuming they have approval).
I’m going to waste so many hours playing this game it’s not even funny.

I’ve just heard that nintendo released a memo stating that due to the last minute agreement made with both Sega and Capcom that the game was re-scheduled for a February 2008 release date and that it went on to detail that Sonic is now a confirmed playable character in Brawl and that a mystery Capcom game character is also being added.
It seems to be credible news, not sure where nintendo memos are located, but if this is true, this just confirms Megaman inclusion for me and Brawl being the one of the best games ever.

Also, I heard that Gamestop received the memo from their corporate headquarters. The memo also states for gamestop not to take anymore pre-orders for Brawl becuase of the rescheduled release date.

I’m not trying to add hype. I heard this from some overexcited Gamestop employees. There was a discussion between them and some customers and I just overheard the conversation. Like I said, I’m not sure if it’s totally true, but would like to think it is.

Well, Sonic has been confirmed for awhile, as has the new release date. Every morning at 2:00 Central time SmashBros.com gives an update as to some detail of the game, and about two weeks ago on a Wednesday they showed Sonic, and the following Friday stated that the release date was being pushed from Dec. 3 to Feb. 10. I work at GameStop, and according to the information our store received, the reason it was being pushed back to Feb. 10 was to give Nintendo extra time to get more Wii consoles on the market to allow for the demand of the hugely popular game, not for time to put in extra content. Not for sure if that’s 100% true or not, but if it is it’s kind of annoying. But I guess the way Nintendo looks at it is that all of the Smash Bros. fans are already gonna be buying the game no matter how far it get’s pushed back, but if they wait until they get some more systems out over the holidays, their ammount of customers they’ll be able to sell too goes way up, as well as it’ll be the hugest titles on the market coming out almost two months after Christmas, therefore, will have less competition….who knows.

I sure hope it’s true also. I’m not sure when Gamestop received this memo from their corporate headquarters or when Nintendo released the memo with the information I mentioned to the headquarters, but this must have taken place in early October or earlier. I am also not sure if these certain employees were spreading false information, but it sounded as though they were telling the truth (I can’t imagine Gamespot employees spreading rumors like this for kicks). Overall, megaman’s chances of being in Brawl seems to be increasing.

I dont know. My favorite is X just because of the fact that he has cooler moves gained from defeated bosses that could be traded over to brawl for a good power-set. I couldnt really see them using EXE/starforce or ZX because of the fact that it’s not really “megaman”. In those stories there are a whole lot of mega’s that are kind like “fused” together with a person to create a megaman. So I couldnt really see him going with that. Although I wouldnt say he always goes with retro either, especially looking at a lot of the new models (i.e. the new Link/Zelda among others). I really love classic, but I really also like the early X. Either one would be fine in my book.

Hey guys this may sound kinda dumb but when megaman (original) gets in what will he look like because I have seen different structures of megaman first there’s megaman from gaming,
then there’s megaman series(super fighting robot)than there’s the cartoon version of megaman from megaman 7.
So I just needed to know from the experts meaning you guys for advice on who looks like the best lookin megaman for Brawl or will they make a newer model of him.

I seriously doubt Lucario will be in Brawl, if he is, will most likely be in the form of an item/pokeball. As well as Viewtiful Joe, I’m highly doubtful. Sakurai already stated that there will only be probably two or three third party characters in brawl, and we already have one from Konami (Snake) and one from Sega (Sonic). The most likely candidate from CAPCOM is MM, and I’m sure he wouldn’t put in Joe over MM, or put two reps from CAPCOM in either. Noone knows about Ridley, I wouldnt be surprised though. Ridley is pretty cool in my book, and Metroid has only had one representative for their series in since SSB started back on the 64, they’re due for a new face.

to answer your question Element_Mega, they will used a modernized “teen” look of Mega Man. He will still look very similar to his NES, SNES, cartoon look. Think MvC1&2, how he was still a teen/kid but not a scrawny midget like in the NES days.
His updated look will be comparable to Pit’s udated look in brawl

Megaman would easily be my favorite character in Brawl if he were included, but if he isn’t there is no way whatsoever the game will fail. SSB is one of Nintendo’s highest selling series of all times, and that is not going to change with or without Mega being added to the roster. He wasnt there for the first two, and the sales were through the roof. The sales will be through the roof again regardless of his presence, although I do hope he’s there.

@Michael- I wish I had inside info! lol, to me that way just makes the most sense. I mean sure Capcom could try to put one of his newer forms in like ZX or Starforce (the Battle Network games have officially ended), but I dont think Nintendo or Sakurai would ever go for that. Its pretty well known that Sakurai loves RETRO characters and nothing seems more retro to me than classic mega man. Honestly, I can only see him or X making it in.
As for the updated look, I figure Capcom will have some say in his design, maybe they will do the preliminary version like the Zelda team did with Link. And then Sakurai’s team will finish it off. The reason I think he will be closer to his MvC appearanc is because thats the newest appearance of classic mega man…

You will be one of the few who hate the game if Mega’s not in it. Did you hate the previous ones because he wasnt in it? And also, how can you say he’s Nintendo’s most loyal servant when half of his biggest series (the X series) was made for the Playstation platform? Don’t get me wrong, Mega deserves to be in brawl more-so than Snake or Sonic, but if he’s not in, it will still be a great game. As for the “not-suitable-for-kids” remark, it’s obvious that this isn’t exactly being marketed for kids. The vast majority of players are late teens and early twenties, and you can also tell by the fact that the artwork has a very distict darkness to it in comparison to the more traditional look. Just look at Mario for evidence. And as for “Nintendo’s rival” Sonic being Mario’s rival is complete marketing now, and really isn’t true anymore because of the fact that Sega strictly makes games now, not systems. If anything, Sonic is an ally for Nintendo these days (because he makes them money) not a rival.

@Bluebomber22 Your reasoning for MegaMan being in his MvC form due to it being the “most recent” classic MegaMan, you’re mistaken. The most recent form of classic MegaMan is his Powered Up style. Not only being the most recent 3D model, but the most recent overall. Powered Up was the last classic game released to date and Inafune (MegaMan created) stated that this new style was what he envisioned for the little guy all alone so my money is on Powered Up style (cute and bobble-headed).
Overall, I’m not sure what to think. I realize the likelihood of MegaMan in Brawl is very high and all evidence points to him probably being in the game, but as with previous things MegaMan I’m bracing myself to be disappointed. If he is in, I’ll be crying tears of joy (I’ve wanted MM in SSB since the first game…) but if he isn’t I wont be surprised. I guess I’m just getting ready for a letdown.
But I will say that I hope with all my heart and soul that he is. That would be…amazing. Lol.

Again the art-style of the upcoming SSB is definately steering away from the direction of cute, to a more dark style. Especially with the addition of Snake and Meta-Knight. With no inside info to say what style mega would be, and only logic, I see no reason as to why it would be the powered up style. Not to mention the fact that the powered up style has only been seen on Playstation and not Nintendo, which is a big deal for them. In my own personal opinion, I would give powered up maybe a 5% chance of being the style used, and the other 95% divided between classic or early X.

@Ageman20XX- I agree that powered is the newer version, and yes infaune originally intended Mega Man to look like that, but do you really think the powered up look would fit into smash? Its like MegaPwnz said, the ambiance of smash is much darker and more mature now. Plus Powered Up never on a Nintendo Console. And powered up was a good game, but it didnt sell that well, so i dont expect to see that version at all…

I don’t really like the powered up look. I’ve always seen Megaman as more of an action hero type character. Sort of like a robotic Link taking on all these big robots and gaining abilities afterwards. Here’s my order of preference for the look: Classic or X, Legends, Powered up, then any of that other crap. I know not many people like Legends but he’s the right age, the right height, and with a modified look he would fit in pretty well.

Your point being what Yoyomom? Mega being on more nintendo console games than snake or sonic has nothing to do with loyalty. If you want to get technical, the fact that mega was away from nintendo longer than snake makes him less loyal than snake. And the fact that sonic didnt start out at nintendo and that mega did makes sonic more loyal than snake. I’m just saying that if you end up hating the game because megas not in it, based on the reasons you’ve stated, it will be completely foolish and irrelevant.

Look, I think It’s pretty safe to say that Megaman is pretty much in. There is NO ONE who can beat him, and I also believe there will be more than 3 third party PCs. Which, if that is the case Megaman is a guarantee; Megaman is an icon much the same as Mario and Sonic, Capcom is not about too miss an opportunity to include their mascot in the best game on the Wii. I think the same could be said for other mascots like Bomberman and Pacman, and I expect all the third party PCs to be big gun characters, not little ol Moogle number 23 from Final Fantasy 2000×4.
I fully expect Megaman, as well as other gaming icons. I believe it is plausible to expect 3-5 TPCs, considering the kind of response made by fans and other companies to include other gaming legends into Smash. Brawl has no longer become a fight of the best Nintendo characters, it has also become a fight of the most legendary characters in gaming history (ala Sonic, Megaman, etc)! That have made it too show just how they stack up to Mario, Link, Samus, so on and so forth…
All in all, Megaman is a shoe-in, all the evidence supports him, he wouldn’t suprise me in the least. I will still be very happy when he is updated though.
And because Megamans 20th anniversary convention is coming up this month, which as the site has stated to have, “A few big announcements!” Counting also the fact that Sonic was revealed in a Sega conference before he was shown on the Dojo, and that since September a third party PC has been revealed every month. Now is the best time to look for that “WARNING CHALLENGER APPROACHING” sign, than to scroll down and see the words, “Megaman.”

I want to believe you Shadow but you seem overly optimistic. Yes it would make sense for him to be in but developers don’t always do what makes sense. Also you can’t count 2 months as every month because 2 isn’t strong enough evidence to declare a pattern. Believe me, I want him in as much as you do but I don’t want to get my hopes up.

Now three people on this list have in fact been confirmed characters. Also I know many people consider Geno as third party, but he isn’t. There is a blog somewhere that has a really concrete argument putting the whole Geno thing to rest. But really Megaman is it, in fact Sakurai had talked how, “He would be an interesting character.” Granted I paraphrased it a bit because I don’t remember the exact quote, however the point is he has been mentioned by Sakurai.
Lastly the cherry on top is the fact that I read that Sakurai and Inafune are familiar with each other and thus forth means that there is a connection. Much the same as he and Kojima; I could also go off on many other points, but I don’t have the time. Anyways it boils down to, he has the best chances beyond anyone else, THATS why I’m optimistic.

Well, I’m not too optimistic, it may be just because i don’t want to set myself up to be uber-disappointed. Sakurai stated forever ago that he only planned on having two maybe three at the most third party characters. Two of them are filled, and from the looks of things Mega is by far the most wanted. Actually it is possible we may get more than 3 third party PCs. Here is what Sakurai has said regarding them:
#31-40: Sakurai starts by saying there wont be any manga characters. Then he begins talking about other companies characters to appear in the game. Among other things, Sakurai says that the character MUST have appeared on a Nintendo platform before. And to literally translate the last sentence (keep in mind this is in reference to the characters from other companies): “Anyways, at most we’ll add another 1-2 characters [after Snake], maybe?”
That “maybe” at the end can be taken two ways, he could mean that 1-2 is a tentative number and more could be added or that whether there will be 3. The first makes more sense, especially regarding what Sakurai said regarding Snake, “I hope that with the inclusion of Snake that many companies will consider including their characters.” Whats important about this staement is why would you hope for “many companies” if you only plan on using 1-2 more? It doesn’t make much sense. Unless the 1-2 more comment was a tentative number at the time amidst not knowing the other developers response.
So it is plausible to believe that in fact there quite possibly will be more than 3, and if so there is no DOUBT Megaman is one of them. Because Bomberman, Pacman, Simon Belmont and all the others don’t even compare to the status of (classic) Megaman.

Sorry, but I’m going to have to disagree with your interpretation (not saying you are wrong, just stating what my opinion is). Here’s my example, my son asks me, can we go to Six Flags? My response is, we will go in 1-2 weeks, maybe? Meaning, it’s possible for us to go, but not guaranteed. I think he was saying, the max ammount that will be included in this specific version of SSB will be “at most” 3. Why would he use the words “at most” if he thought they would be adding more than that many? That just doesnt logically make sense. At least to me it doesn’t. But then again, reading words and actually hearing him say the words can provide multiple meanings depending on his tone/inflection and things of the sort. Who knows. I’d love for there to be many other 3rd parties, I was just going off of what he said.

I see your point, my position is just that the only 2-3 third party characters doesn’t make sense when compared to his other statement. And than his “we welcome many companies” statement doesn’t make sense if he is only going to use 2 max. So either what I have said is true, Sakurai is a Isn’t very careful with his wording.
The point is is that when you compare the statement where he said that only 2-3 third party PCs at most, than afterwards his statement about wanting many companies joining their characters in the game it doesn’t add up. Even SamuraiPanda the one who translated Sakurais letters even noted that based on sentence structure that the “maybe” is an tentative.
31-40: Non-Nintendo characters added into the game MUST have appeared on a Nintendo platform. The tentative number of non-Nintendo characters to be added is 1-2.
And just by judging all the statements he’s made and considering the polls as well as Sakurai himself. If he knew that putting this character in makes the biggest majority people happy, he will do it. Now because he can’t throw in every character that makes people happy, he uses polls to figure out who makes the most people happy. And based upon character polls from both Japan and American polls the top 10 most requested new characters that have not been revealed are: Ridley, Geno, Megaman, Krystal, Captain Olimar, King K.Rool, Lucario, Isaac, Ray 01 and Bowser Jr.
There is a reason’s for polls, now it doesn’t necessarily mean every person on that poll will be playable, but the more popular one’s universally are the one’s with the best chances. Sakurai also wants to throw in some unique characters, but the new characters being revealed (minus PT) are all characters we never doubted to be in, and the current top ten are very likely as well. Even though some of those characters I don’t care for (one I HATE!) It doesn’t change the fact that these are the most likely candidates to fill the spots.
And taking out Young Link, Roy, Pichu, and Dr. Mario, bringing back all the characters in Melee, adding all the new characters we know of now, and finally adding these 10 in.
It still only brings it 42 characters, right around a more likely size. However in my opinion this is the most likely list:

Well, I suppose we can cross Ness from Earthbound off the list of characters for Brawl now. The update today showed Lucas’ special moves, and Sakurai said that Ness has appeared in SSB up until now. I didn’t care much for ness anyway

Actually no it doesn’t, it just means that up until now Ness was the only MOTHER fighter. It’s just showing the differences and similarities between Ness and Lucas. Lucas is the Luigi for Ness, different standard attack partially the same special moves, thats all; it confirms nothing regarding Ness other than the fact that Ness isn’t the only one to use PK Fire, Magnet and Thunder anymore.
BTW, this is about Megaman, funny how it’s become a haven for bore bloggers.
Anyways on topic, do ANY of you even believe that this guy is telling the truth? I’m pretty skeptical that, “oHz Mi FrIeNdz WorKerz fOr CapCoMz,” and I looked there is no way to verify his other claims about RE:UC and the other thing. It doesn’t mean Megaman still won’t be in Brawl; however I’m just VERY skeptical of this guy/gal’s claims.

If Ness was going to be in Brawl, he wouldnt have said that. If you went out and played basketball, and took ten shots, and made all ten, you wouldnt say, I’ve made every shot up until now. You would only say that if you’d missed your last attempt. Also, his moves are strikingly similar to what Ness’ were in the past, so much so, that if Ness were still in, they would be too close to being clones of one another. Iv’e never understood people who are strongly against having a character in the game. It’s really selfish. Since they don’t like a character they would rather have people who like him never get a chance to play as him just so they don’t have to look at him in the game. That’s just stupid. If you don’t like a character don’t play with him.
On the Ness topic you all seem to forget that Sakurai’s words are translated. When things are transleted they sometimes don’t have exactly the same meaning. So even though it says “up until now” it could mean in “both previous games” or “in the past”. While the words have the same basic meaning they have different connotations.

Umm this guy is not the one who works for Capcom he says his “friend” does. Even if this article is not true, It still doesn’t change the fact that Megaman is the most likely and best choice for the guest next newcomer.
And as far as Ness goes, I think Sakurai is playing everyone by using wording like that. Remeber how he said “only one smashball per match?” Well that was bogus. And he has proven time and time again that he likes playing these mindgames with people.
So don’t count him out just yet, let’s just sit back and wait and see.

Everyone thinking it was one smash ball per match was because everyone was reading it wrong, he never said those words. These are the exact words used.
“The Final Smash is a secret skill that can be performed but once…and only after obtaining an item called the Smash Ball, which is a precious item, indeed.”
People were freaking out over the part that says “can be used but once”. It wasn’t a word game at all. All he said was if you get a smash ball, you only get one use. He stated nothing about how many per match, that was everyone else’s doing.
As for his words about Ness being translated, i’m pretty sure Sakurai speaks English and is able to say whatever he wants however he wants in our language. Ness is gone, deal with it, and get over it. I’m not trying to be mean, but if you read that and still think he’s gonna be in, it’s a little thing canlled denial.

Speaking of Megaman, (since that it the topic) It is getting awfully close to Megaman’s 20th anniversary convention on
the 18th. I wonder if we can expect Megaman to be revealed anytime soon? Granted I know his actual 20th anniversary is
December 17th; however they decided to hold a convention a month earlier, which is strange but thats besides the point.
Now if he is in they might decide to save him until the release, or just reveal him another time. All in all I am hoping
for a Megaman update in the next few weeks, not saying it will happen but now is the best chance of it happening if they
will reveal him before release.
Also another person asked why Megaman has the best chances? Here’s why:
1) He was one of the most requested third party PCs next to Sonic.
2) He is ENOURMESLY popular in Asia, he is what Sonic is here.
3) He is a gaming legend.
4) He has many options for a moveset.
5) Sakurai is friends with Inafune, much like Kojima. So it MAY have a little bearing.
6) Capcom and Nintendo have rather friendly relations.
7) It’s MEGAMAN!
Now he could still not get in, but these are just the major reasons why he might get in.

I seriously hope it’s not the Powered Up style. In my opinion, the cartoony style with the overly big head is completely against the way I like to think of his look. Powered Up doesnt look like a guy (or robot) that would just pwn u if you had to face him. Not to mention that Powered Up style has only been on Sony platform, not Nintendo which could be a complete hindrance to it’s use.

We’ve had two previous editions of the column that focused on third-party suggestions – Konami’s Crew and Sonic Team – and both were met with negativity, because the majority of fans believe that each contributing third-party company should only get one representative and be done with it. That’s pretty awesome. I would like to see more than three even though Sakurai hasnt said himself there will be more, even if that statement is outdated. But IGN is quite reputable, so when they say something, it’s usually true. Although I’d still like to hear comfirmation from Dojo. I think it would be awesome if Capcom had two reps, a perfect team match would be Megaman and Zero Vs. Fox and Falco.

Whether or not this is fishy, suspicious, etc, isn’t the point at all. Did they post pictures of Sonic before he was revealed? Were there names of Sega employees dropped before Sonic was revealed? No.
Nothing says that Megaman is confirmed, but logic things out thoroughly before you call BS or call someone a liar. You don’t have any definite way to prove that he’s NOT telling the truth, do you?

Precisely. Even if this guy is making the whole thing up, there are a number of other sources that point to Megaman possibly being in. There’s even the Megaman 20th Anniversary party in which Inafune was asked about Megaman’s inclusion and he doesn’t give us a clear-cut answer one way or the other.
Game developers like to play mindgames with their consumers. If anything, he likely knows that Megaman has probably been in the game all along and he doesn’t want to spoil the surprise for us until he’s revealed.

Yup I remember something online when Inafune made a stop at a Gamestop signing the newley released Megaman game. (it was in honor of Megaman ZX I believe) A couple of guy asked him while he was signing this game I cannot recall if Megaman was in Brawl, than apparently the translator translated what they said and he smiled and apparently said, “that would be interesting now wouldn’t it.” Then apparently an overexcited employee started freaking out.
And there are other rumors like this out there I mean SurferGirl has reported that Capcom included a character in Brawl, and since she called the Rockman Wii in 2008 according to her it was most likely Megaman. Point is, ever since Sonic has been revealed Megaman has become the new “Sonic” in the sense of most talked about, desired and rumored about. I think Nintendo could have foreseen this, because after all companies are not stupid, well not Nintendo or Capcom hopefully…

I actually spent time writing up a support for the ABC-order theory surrounding the Smash Bros. icon and it largely supports the possibility that Megaman may already be in the game, as well as attempt to debunk some of the contradictions to the theory.

Actually, I had the DS icon covered th my support too.
I figured that the DS icon starting at 21 meant the inclusion of console icons as well. Since the Super Scope is a Nintendo peripheral that was turned into a weapon in the last game, I figured we’d see something like this, with the same alphabetization:
21) DS
22) Famicom (NES)
23) Game Boy
24) Gamecube
25) Nintendo 64
26) Super Famicom (SNES)
Of course it’s still speculation, but I’d rather not throw it out the window until it can be conclusively proven false.

Megaman deserves it more than Snake and Sonic or the others, he has enough fandom, games, tv shows, etc, to more than get in. Now that we have heard the data he will get in most likely, I await the announcement of happiness for all Megaman fans!!

Oh, everyone concerned about the game possibly being delayed again, check this line:
“Y: ****** told me they ended negotiating a deal with ninty last month”
I’d like to point out that if this article was posted on October 17, but the talks were going on a month prior, the part about the delay likely refers to the delay announced the same day Sonic was announced.
I really don’t think I should have to tell you guys to put two and two together at this point

Right. The talks happened in September, with the delay happening in October on the day of Sonic’s release.
If Nintendude had the opportunity to post this earlier, we would’ve caught wind of the delay earlier to decrease the amount of skepticism/fear surrounding another pushback.
Of course, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if January rolls around and Nintendo decides to push Brawl back to May. Of NEXT year.

Their not going to delay it until 2009, because the delay had NOTHING to do with adding more content, so why delay it till May if no more content is going to be added?
Also, I LOVE todays update, I’ve been talking about this for awhile now. Now I can officially say I hope Fountain of Dreams, Fourside, (original) Pokemon Stadium, and Mute City return! ^_^
Also ALSO, I hope Megaman is revealed Monday or relatevly soon.

Yeah uh, Shadow, that comment about delaying it to 2009 was a joke in light of the fact that Nintendo has delayed many of their best games numerous times in order to make them better.
