Nintendo proudly released their earth friendly game, Eco Creatures: Save the Forest, on March 4, 2008. Eco Creatures: Save the Forest can be played by up to four players and enjoys a family friendly ranking of E. Eco Creatures: Save the Forest is a real time strategy game that was designed to demonstrate the effect of clear cut forestry on the rainforest.

The Plot

Eco Creatures: Save the Forest is set in the mythical forest of Mana Woods. For as long as anyone can remember the residents of Mana Woods lived in peace, but now that peace being destroyed. A neighboring kingdom is expanding its borders destroying the forest in the process. It is up to you to stop them before the damage is irreversible.

The Characters

You are Dorian, easily by your head to toe layer of yellow/orange fur that covers you from head to toe. The best thing about being Dorian is that you have several magical talents that you can use in your quest to save your home forest from the ravishing affects of pollution. Saving the entire forest is a big job and but you will be able to get some help from your friends along the way including Master, who will be there to help teach you new types of magic tricks as you advance through the levels. During your journey, you will be able to save some characters from pollution and have to fight some seemingly trustworthy people, like the royal family’s evil advisor, Minister.

The Graphics

When designing Eco Creatures: Save the Forest, Nintendo opted to use simple, brightly colored graphics that are cartoonish in appearance. The good guys are easily identified by their cute and cuddly appearance as well as their happy expressions.
