Baten Kaitos 2 scans

By Nintendude under Baten Kaitos 2, Gamecube

batenkaitos2I really enjoyed the first Baten Kaitos, hopefully the sequel will be even better. Jeux France has some scans taken from a japanese mag featuring some in-game screenshots as well as some of the artwork.

The events of this sequel will take place 20 years after the original Baten Kaitos so don´t expect to see a lot of the original characters but we might see some familiar faces showing up every now and then.

Baten Kaitos 2 will be released on February 23, 2006 in Japan. I have no idea when it is coming out in the States and Europe.

Check out the scans here.

Twilight Princess will be a really long game

By Nintendude under Twilight Princess, Zelda, Gamecube

tp logoA japanese gaming site is reporting that Twilight Princess, the next game on the Zelda series, will be featuring over 100 hours of gameplay!. That would make it the longest game of the series and probably, one of the longest adventure games ever.

A translation of the report is also stating that: “In other news of Twilight Princess, the newly added game mechanics (that have pushed the release date back), are supposedly the new benchmark for the Zelda series.

I know that all the delays will pay in the end and hopefully we will be seeing one of the best games ever but i just can´t wait to get my hands on it. I wonder what kind of game mechanics they are referring to, just in-game mechanics or maybe some extra funcionality to work with the wi fi connection and the revolution?.

Starcraft Ghost cancelled for the cube

By Nintendude under Starcraft Ghost, Gamecube

novaomg!. Really bad news fur us gamecube users. A few days ago during a Q&A session at Blizzcon Blizzard hinted that because of the online capabilities of the game, Starcraft Ghost might not be launched for the cube. This was confirmed at battle.net forums by a Blizzard representative:

“Unfortunately the GameCube version of the game was decided to be dropped. In order to provide the game envisioned by the console team a set and readily available online solution was needed. Unfortunately the GameCube has no online service and since so much work is going in to the online portion, it would be additional work to release only part of the intended game. Nintendo systems certainly aren’t something that we are against supporting. Blizzard in its entirety is based upon earlier games for Nintendo systems. The GameCube and Revolution will still be considered for future products; unfortunately Ghost will only be made available on the Xbox and PS2 at this time.”

This game has been in development forever and now it´s not gonna see a release in the gamecube. What are you thinking Blizzard?.

Batallion Wars and Mario Baseball get release date for Europe

Some official release dates for Europe were just announced by Nintendo, mark your calendars and start counting the days if you are interested in these games.

First we have Batallion Wars, this game has surprised a lot of people who weren´t expecting much since of this gamecube strategy game. Batallion wars has received good critics since it´s release on the US just a week ago and will be hitting european stores on December 11th. Why is this game shipping so late? i have no idea but it might be worth the wait.

Then there´s Mario Baseball, one of the Mario sports series games that are coming to the cube. This game will be available on November 11th.

Baten Kaitos II and Baten Kaitos DS

Baten KaitosFew days ago Namco kinda confirmed at their website that a Baten Kaitos game was coming for the Nintendo DS, we already knew the game was on the works but this pretty much tells us that the game is actually going to be launched. It is unknown if the game is going to be a sequel, a port or a differente story. Xenosaga DS was confirmed as well.

According to Famitsu, Namco would also be working on a sequel of the popular RPG for the cube, the game is called Baten Kaitos II: Hajimari No Tsubasa to Kamigami No Shishi or Baten Kaitos II: Wings of the Beginning and the Heir to the Gods, a pretty long name isn´t it?. Since this looks like a sequel we can discard that option for the DS game.

Hopefully we´ll find out more about this game at this weekend´s TGS.

SSX On Tour Mario

I´ve heard the rumors about Mario being a special guest on SSX On Tour but i guess i didn´t really believed it. Game Trailers has the full video where you can see Mario, Peach and Luigi on the game, you have to go and watch it for yourself. Now i really want this game.
