Introducing Nanostray 2

By Nintendude under Nintendo, Nintendo News

On March 11, 2008 the Nintendo Corporation introduced their latest game, a game called Nanostray 2. Nanostray 2 is the sequel to Nintendo’s Nanostray.

The World of Nanostray 2

If you are someone who likes to play games that are full of action and constant activity, if you drool over games that allow to shoot things, if you love being able to die in a hundred different ways to die, then Nanostray 2 is the game for you. While playing Nanostray 2, you will have an opportunity to choose from a seemingly limitless number of projectiles that you can use to shoot hundreds of different foes. While playing Nanostray 2, you will have the sense that you are all alone in a hostile world. From the second you start to play, Nanostray 2 is a non-stop fight for your life.

Nanostray 2 Weaponry

While fighting one foe after another, you will have an impressive arsenal to choose from. You can choose from different six different impressive weapons that you can configure to suit your needs before using them for protection. In addition to the weaponry you will also have access to 4 unlockable simulators.

The Purpose

One of the nice things about Nanostray 2 is that it has a plot. When you start playing, you find that you are a researcher, researching the Nanostray virus. If you are unable to stop the enemies, they will take over the Nanostray technology, using it to kill you.

As you advance through the levels, you will visit each of the eight Nanostray planets. Each planet features its own enemies, a different background, and unique set of hazards and perils.

Playing Nanostray 2

Nanostray can be played with just one person, or it can be adjusted for two people. You can play Nanostray 2 on your DS.

Wii slowing down soon? Not so, Mr. Pachter

By Nintendude under Wii, Nintendo Rumors, Nintendo News

The Wii is a marvelous device. Even though it’s constantly under fire by many in the gaming community that consider themselves “too hardcore” to bother themselves with “underpowered hardware,” it doesn’t seem to matter. Even I’ve been surprised by it all. I always expected the Wii to take a second-place spot behind the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 — on paper, it just seems so underwhelming. Is Nintendo the least bit fazed by this? Not at all.

Nintendo continues to laugh all the way to the bank as Wii shortages continued through yet a second Christmas season, and there’s still proof that people just can’t seem to get enough of what critics compare to discount-bin hardware with yesterday’s technology. Still, it marches on, oblivious to the criticism… and why wouldn’t it?

The control scheme may be starkly different, but the Wii isn’t exactly forging new territory on the hardware front.

Nintendo UK quiet about Super Smash Bros. European release date

As you all know by now, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed yet again by about a month in Japan and the USA. As far as the European release goes, we’ve never been given a street date but it seemed quite likely we wouldn’t be seeing hide nor hair of the bloody thing until Summer. Now that there are delays in the countries that Nintendo cares about, we in Europe wonder if we will be affected at all.

Well, Nintendo UK won’t tell us. In fact, when asked about how the recent delays will affect a European release, Nintendo UK would only say that “no European date has ever been announced for Smash Bros.” Well gee, thanks for that, makes us feel special.
Nintendo’s persisting treatment of Europe as if it were a second class citizen has almost become a self-parody.

Nintendo could lose $1 billion due to shortage

By Nintendude under Wii, Nintendo, Nintendo News

Have you been able to find a Wii? Yeah, me neither. Then again, I stopped trying back in August, though after Christmas I’m definitely going to be getting back on the hunt for one, as I am dying to play Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. Even more than Super Mario Galaxy. It’s no secret to anyone that there is a definite shortage of Wii consoles on the market.
Even though George Harrison (I’ve got my mind set on you…) has said Nintendo is producing 1.8 million consoles a month, Nintendo has simply not been able to meet the demand for the Wii and, according to one analyst, could lose upwards of $1 Billion.
With a ‘B’. Nine zeros after the number one. One billion dollars.
Now thankfully the Wii prints money so Nintendo should survive without too much trouble, however this shortage is really riling up a lot of people.

Nintendo Pulling Ads from UK Television

By Nintendude under Wii, Nintendo News

The BBC (holy crap, a real news source?) is reporting that Nintendo is pulling advertisements off of British television in an attempt to help battle demand for the console. As we all know, Nintendo has said in the past that they are doing the best they can, and it’s George Harrison has gone on record as saying that Nintendo manufactures 1.8 million Wiis every month.
However, Nintendo believes that it is the “responsible” decision to pull the ads until 2008, that way they will be able to better handle the demand during this, the most festive time of year.

Kotick: Consoles must drop to $199 for mainstream success

In an interview with Reuters, Activision Chief Executive Bobby Kotick said that, in order for Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony to reach great mass-market appeal they will have to reach the ever-coveted $199 price point in the next two years.
In the next 24 months they all will need to be at that $199 price point, and you can imagine Nintendo will be down to the $129 price point over the next few years

I see where Kotick is coming from. Once the PlayStation 2 dropped to the $199 price point, it became the best selling console of all time. Could you just imagine what the Wii would do sales wise if it were to drop to the $129 price point as Kotick suggested? It’d be pandemonium.

The final name will aso be revealed and the initial price tag can be expected as well.

So, Mark your calendars for May 9, 2006 at 9:30 Pacific time and start biting your nails because there are still over 160 days to go.

Revolution will also have parental controls

By Nintendude under Nintendo News

Microsoft and Sony recently announced that their respective consoles will feature parental controls to keep the kids from playing games wich are not suited to their age.

Nintendo announced today that the revolution will also have this feature. This is good news for those gamer parents who like to have M Rated games but don´t want their children to play them.

How effective is this going to be? Not much i think. Kids bypass the TV and DVD parental controls all the time and i don´t think that with the gaming consoles this is going to change.
