Hey, guess what? There is a game called Super Smash Bros. Brawl coming out this weekend for the Wii. You may have heard a little something about it.
In celebration of the occasion that either makes some people ridiculously excited or others completely annoyed, this week’s Great Retro Quiz is all about the characters featured in the original Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64. Why the original? Well, this is a “retro” quiz after all and that was the most retro I could get concerning this series.
Keep in mind that this quiz is not really about the actual game as much as it is about the characters featured in it. I just don’t want anyone to yell at me for not asking about the difference and subtle nuances between “Break the Targets” and “Board the Platforms.”

This game just keeps getting more and more awesome every day. One of my all-time favourite characters, King Dedede has been officially announced as a playable character for SSBM. He will have the ability to use and charge his hammer as well as sending some of his minions
to fight for him wich suits him very well.

Gametrailers published today some new SSBB gameplay footage. Most of the stuff is certainly not so new but you can see Sonic in action as well as his special move wich looks deadly.

There are some other cool videos at GT, one with Peach and Kirby and one showing some Icarus gameplay Enjoy them!

I really hope this turns out to be true and confirms SSBB as the best game ever. I was talking via IM with a source very close to a Capcom developer and got som interesting news, here´s the excerpt. (N is Me)

Ok, before you start the flaming in the comments, you should know by now i don´t like to publish rumors and that this is the same source that gave me the RE5 details i published on my other blog before the first trailer was shown and who also told me about umbrella chronicles a few days before the game was officially announced, so i have no reason not to trust him.

According to the good old wikipedia, this is not the first time Capcom licenses the megaman character rights to other companies wich apparently is what they will be doing this time.

Remember those days where we all tought: “It would be really cool if we could kick Sonic´s butt in Smash Bros”. Well, stop dreaming cuz the battle is on baby!.

The dojo updated just a few hours ago officially announcing Sonic as a newcomer to Brawl. Here´s the official word right from the site:

There was a bij update on the dojo this week, including the introduction of Lucas from Mother 3 as a newcomer and some Snake related goodies like this video where we can watch him being briefed before joining the battle.

The Dojo updated recently announcing another newcomer to Super Smash Bros Brawl. Diddy Kong will have some really cool moves like the Peanut Popgun where he will use his wood made gun to shoot some peanuts.

He will also be the first character to be able his very own recovery methods, he can take some of his peanuts and eat them to recover some damage.

His last revelead moved is a rocket barrel wich he will use as a recovery move. The cool thing about it is that you can shift directions while using it .

This looks like it´s part of the SSBB intro movie, it shows Pit looking at the mess being caused on earth and getting permission to go and join the battle.

Well they were right about something. I would have never guessed Petey Piranha would be joining the battle. This game is looking way to awesome, i can´t wait to see what other surprises Nintendo has up on their sleeve.

The Super Smash Bros Brawl official website was updated today revealing a new character for the lineup and he comes with a 3 for the price of one package.

Pokemon Trainer, who is modeled after Red will join the game with a very particular style because he will not be the one delivering the punches, his pokémon will. You will be able to use Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard and switch between the three of them by performing a special move. They will share the same damage bar so no cheating by switching to a fresh pokémon.

I wonder if with this the old pokemons like pikachu and jigglypuff will comeback, i certainly hope at leats jiggly does, it was really fun to play with her.
